Message from the Principal
I am proud to share some of the great achievements our students have been having over the past few weeks.
Recently we had team representation at the Chess Power Nationals online competition where we placed third in the Intermediate School division. Congratulations to Rooney, Santhosh, Yireh, Sanay and Jeridiya for this fantastic result.
Congratulations to Dihen from Room 24 who has had a painting of his selected by our local Member of Parliament to represent Mt Roskill Intermediate and be exhibited at Parliament for the next three months.
A super result by our Mixed Touch Team who competed at the Interzone Touch tournament this week. They placed 2nd overall out of all the schools in Auckland. Well done team!
Following on from our school Athletics Day, held last week, we had over 40 students represent MRI at the Central Zone Athletics day held at Go Media (Mt Smart) stadium. Our students gave it a 100% on the day and made us proud. Results from the day are still to be provided to us.

Our group of students and staff who travelled to Japan for our Munakata exchange had an incredible time. They were received with amazing hospitality. The group had the opportunity to visit cultural and historic sites, visited Disneyland, shrines and experienced Japanese education and home life. Special lifelong memories and friendships have been made.

We have a couple of key events coming up over the last few weeks of the term.

- Next Wednesday is our Kāhui Ako FiaFia. This will be held at Mt Roskill Intermediate School with students from all of our Kāhui Ako Primary schools and MRI performing on an outside stage. There will be food trucks on site selling a variety of food. Please come along and support this great cultural event and celebration of talent.

- Next Friday our school will be travelling to the Aotea Centre to see the National Youth Theatre’s production of ‘Alice - A Wonderland Musical’. This will be a great experience and will support a large number of our students who are in the cast.

- We look forward to having whānau join us for our upcoming Awards Celebration and Year 8 Graduation Ceremony. If your child is receiving a certificate or award at the Award celebration, you will be notified directly within the next week.
